Igor Božanić is a “Sevdah noir” singer-songwriter who reimagines Balkan heritage through minimalist folk. His sound blends haunting sevdah melodies with fragile, contemporary storytelling. Following his transition to native-language songwriting with the album Runo, his 2025 record Žega gained recognition on European and global world music charts. A seasoned performer, he has been selected as a support act for artists such as Marissa Nadler, Passenger, and Damir Imamović. His music bridges the ancient soul of the Balkans with contemporary indie-folk sensibilities, creating an intimate experience defined by rich vocal harmonies and a distinct personality.
